Founded in 2025 by Edwin Fang, Studio Fang is a leader in the synthesis of high-performance building science and design excellence. With over 20 years of experience in Los Angeles, Edwin is a Passive House-certified architect dedicated to "building back right" in California’s WUI zones. The studio’s expertise lies in creating carbon-neutral, fire-resilient sanctuaries that far exceed standard code, ensuring long-term climate readiness and superior health for the Southern California community.

Fire Resiliency Experience Details:

Studio Fang specializes in extreme fire resiliency for Southern California’s WUI zones. Following the 2025 Eaton Fire, the studio pioneered "smoke-tight" design, utilizing 0.6 ACH50 airtightness to protect indoor air quality from toxic particulates. Expertise includes Shou Sugi Ban (charred timber) for Class-A rated, carbon-sequestering skins and resource resilience, such as engineering pools into 20,000-gallon emergency water reserves. We combine Passive House science with defensive landscape strategies to build back right.
